Gopi realizes that her sister will never reform and stabs Radha to death and is sentenced to 14 years. Soon Radha delivers a daughter, who is also named Rashi. Radha returns, tricking Jigar into sleeping with her and gets pregnant. Jigar marries Paridhi, in force of his family. Jigar goes into depression due to Rashi's demise. Later, Rashi sacrifices her life to save Gopi from the latter's obsessed former colleague, Anurag Joshi. Rashi's cousin, Paridhi enters into Modi house for project on joint family. Radha's true colours are revealed and sent to jail with Tripti. Eventually, Gopi and Ahem reunite with their long-lost daughter, Meera, who grew up as an orphan named Gauri. Soon, Gopi and Ahem meet each other during Ahem's remarriage with Radha where the entire family learns about Vidya is Gopi and Ahem's biological daughter. Along with Sahir, Samar and Prateek, Vidya learns that Ahem is her father. Rashi is the new matriarch of the Modi family. Kokila and Ahem are depressed due to the loss of Meera and Gopi. Gopi lives in Somgarh and gives birth and raises her second daughter, Vidya single-handedly, working as an art teacher. Kokila holds Gopi responsible for Meera's death, and makes her leave the house for taking away the family's happiness. When the family is out at a picnic, Radha orchestrates an accident which results in Gopi accidentally throwing Meera in the river. Gopi finds out she is pregnant again, but unable to tell the family. Umang's first wife, Tripti kills him and Radha holds Gopi responsible for Umang's demise and decides to hurt Meera. Gopi finds out that her parents are actually alive and reunite with them. Later, Gopi gives birth to a daughter, Meera and Rashi deliver twin-sons, Sahir and Samar. Kokila's daughter, Kinjal is married to Rashi's cousin, Dhaval. Rashi tries many unsuccessful attempts to create trouble for Gopi, but in the end the cousins are happily accepted by their family. Eventually, Gopi's steadfast, kind-hearted mother-in-law, Kokila turns Gopi into a confident and smarter woman so that she is accepted by Ahem. Gopi and Rashi are married respectively to Ahem and Jigar, the sons of Modi family. She is left illiterate, naive, kind and shy while their own daughter, Rashi is educated, friendly, lively and cunning. Urmila and Jitu adopted their niece, Gopi after her parents died.
