If something changes with a patch, it will soon be integrated. And the import/export filter for ETS 2 is constantly improving. Now with Zmodeler 3, situation is much better. Working with prefabs was an adventure even if it was only for the mesh. In the days of ETS 1 and beyond there was Zmodeler 2, basically useful for SCS vehicles, but that was it. It has import/export filters for several games I never played. But that I wouldn't recommend to start with anyway. But as of now, it neither support animations nor prefabs (PPD files). As long as it is not SCS game specific, there should be much info, hints, and documentation available.ĭrawback: I have no idea how powerful 50Keda's plugin is. But I'm still struggling and scratching my head, regularly. All I wanted was to make modest changes to original SCS models, and that I did, nothing else. I never had the ambition to become a modeler. I started in 2009, but used it only sporadically, and still call myself a noob. As long as:ġ) You have given it a decent try yourself.Ģ) You have searched for it on the forum as well as through the whole "Blender2SCS" topic.Ĥ) You phrase your question well enough. Just remember, it never hurts to ask questions. But i am sure there are plenty of people here much more capable than me. I will try and help you with whatever i do know when you have a problem. And Blender (AFAIK, don't shoot me) is more mainstream than ZModeler, it has plenty of general modeling tutorials to help you where ZMod differs from Blender.Īs i have practically no experience with actual useful modeling (Last i did anything was in Lightwave 8, it would surprise me if anyone here even knows of it) i can't help you any further on your quest but wish you the best of luck. That said, these tutorials can be used to learn how the models work, despite doing it in Blender. There are plenty of great tutorials on the ZModeler forums. Most users here use Blender (free after all) and 50Keda's "Blender2SCS" plugin.Īt the same time, ZModeler 3 is the official modeler application for ETS 2.
